We started our sushi wholesale and retail business, JAS Sushi, from one shop in 1999 - expanding to four locations within a short time including a central kitchen, a busy takeaway outlet, a Kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi restaurant and a concessionary store in David Jones. In 2003, we were awarded 3 WA Nutrition Awards and in 2004, we were a finalist in the Australian Hotel Association WA Liquor & Hospitality Supplier Award.

Being well-known for our expertise in the sushi business, we have been approached by many companies to assist with their sushi production set-up. This led us to establish JAS Automation (general machines business) and eventually to specialize in sushi machines with the creation of Sushi Machines Australia.

The demand for sushi machines has grown overwhelmingly in Japan, the birthplace of sushi and most sushi shops own and operate sushi machines. The main objectives are consistent products, precise and accurate dimensions and efficient use of labor. The bottom line is great savings for the businesses.

We travel Australia-wide to carry out machine installation/ commissioning and worldwide to keep up on the latest sushi technology and innovations. We have exhibited in the Fine Food Australia exhibition in Melbourne, Catering Institute Exhibition in Perth, Fine Food Queensland in Brisbane and Fine Food in Sydney.
